A Learning Revolution: Multiple Intelligence and the Internet

School and studying for many people bring up memories of difficulty and boredom.  Add to that the idea of distance learning and the picture of a complex computer screen - suddenly  any learning seems impossible.  And you are right.

However, a learning revolution is underway. It holds promise as impactful as the movable type printing and the telephone together with the invention of schools.  It is marrying two separate technologies in a "killer application" that transforms how people learn and communicate in a fun, interactive, and effective way that utilizes our multiple intelligences or MI.  (download full document)  

Transformation Through Multi-dimensional Learning

The Information Age has ushered in many changes affecting people in all walks of life. The accessibility of information has provided people with freer mobility, a wealth of resources unrecognized in the past, and numerous opportunities. However the changes have also brought about fears, and for many a discomfort with dealing with the change.

The ability of people to become comfortable with change and to learn from change quickly becomes essential not only for one's survival but also for the betterment of one's life. Unlike in the past when wealth creation was dependent on property and material resources, today wealth is created through knowledge and its application. The knowledge worker is valued particularly for his ability to put this knowledge to practical use.

What Is Your Company's Competitive Edge? The Resource Based Theory of Strategy

Turbulence. Chaos. Change. Paradox. Globalization. Intensified competition. Uncertainty. Complexity. Such words have become the clicheic characterization of the current state of global affairs. The enterprise culture of the 1980s served as the impetus for a more globalized business competition with increasing pressure from market drivers: the market has become more sophisticated and demanding. Traditional modes and frameworks employed for ensuring corporate success were badly in need of reframing to adapt to the new socio-economic structures of the new millenium.  Academics and corporate practitioners have been in search of new models for corporate, economic and organizational survival and sustainability hence the proliferation of new business paradigms: organizational learning, kaizen, reengineering, total quality management. In the realm of strategic management, theoretical foundations were reexamined resulting into a new framework for business strategy:  management have turned to economic reasoning and models for competitive strategy (Rumelt, 1991), the most recent of which is the resource-based theory.
